Just so you know it isn’t all spinning all the time, I thought I would show you the hat I started this week. I got the kit for the Primero hat at the Ross Farm booth at the DFW Fiber Festival. They have sheep that are considered heritage breeds and/or rare breeds, and are actively working to conserve the types. There is more to read about that on their website. For me, it means this yarn is a little outside my comfort zone, literally. It is 100% Romney (guessing the dark brown) and 100% Leicester Longwool (guessing the white). I am not sure what the light brown is, possibly a blend?
It’s lovely, but just more rustic than most of the commercial yarns and handspun I generally knit with. It has been a while since I have done any stranded knitting and I just thought it would be a nice way to ease back into it. I got a second hat kit at the festival, and that one is for a full on Fair Isle knit hat. More on that as soon as I finish this one!
