I am still on the learning curve with my Kromski Symphony spinning wheel. The bobbins are supposed to hold 4 ounces, but I find myself playing Bobbin Chicken with increasing frequency.
This bobbin is definitely filled to capacity. Perhaps beyond capacity, since the last 10-20 yards had to be wound on manually. Basically, I could treadle to insert twist, but then had to stop treadling to wind the yarn around the bobbin by hand. It wasn’t an issue with take-up, but an issue with the bobbin being so full that the yarn was hitting the flyer.
That isn’t proper. Not at all.
I have been spinning about 7 years I think, and this is the first time I have totally lost at bobbin chicken.
What’s a spinner to do?
On another note, I cleaned out some old links to blogs I read, and will work on adding in some new ones. This has been missing from the sidebar for a while, and finaly, I am missing it enough to figure out how to add it back in.
